One of the biggest recruiting head-scratchers has been the low amount of recruiting attention received by St. Bonaventure LB Loren Powers. This guy was one of the most dynamic players I saw play this past season and was the emotional heartbeat of a Seraphs squad that won the Division III state bowl game.

So, it’s encouraging to see a couple of schools have cranked up their interest in the 6-foot-3, 211-pounder.

St. Bonny offensive line coach Roger Sonsini told Scout.com that Powers met with a Washington State recruiter on Tuesday and said the Pac-10 school is ‘very interested’ in him. Powers has also been contacted by Nevada and Fresno State.

Powers was named the All-CIF Northern Division defensive player of the year after tallying 103 tackles and four sacks last season.
