Righetti believes it’s better to be the Hunter than the hunted

Randy Hunter has been seemingly unstoppable at times this season, without peer once he establishes position down low, inside the paint, regardless of the double- and triple-teams he constantly faces. Guess that explains why the Righetti boys’ basketball team is on the verge of successfully defending its Pac-7 League title.

The 6-foot-5, 200 pound senior is shooting more than 56% from the field and averaging a double-double everytime he steps out on the floor. His 15.5 points and 11.3 rebounds a night heading into Friday’s game against Paso Robles are far and away tops among big men in league play.

With six games left in the regular season, it appears as if next week’s opponents, Atascadero and San Luis Obispo, are the lone remaining threats on the schedule. However, the Warriors own a two-game lead atop the standings, so the likeliness of a complete meltdown isn’t all that great, at least not with Hunter in the lineup.
