Fairfax not great but good enough in victory over Palisades

Fairfax’s 57-53 victory over host Palisades in a Western League boys’ basketball game Friday night was neither overwhelming nor underwhelming.
The bigger Lions (12-2, 2-0) did have problems putting away the smaller but pesky Dolphins (17-3, 1-1), even after building a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.
But I also think seventh-ranked Fairfax can and will play better as the season goes on.
I’m not sure how much better No. 24 Palisades can play against opponents of this caliber.
