Tousignant bends it like Beckham

You wouldn’t know it by watching the recently completed football season, but the Inland Empire can play some defense.

That’s right, the Norco girls’ soccer team shut out Vista Murrieta, 1-0, on Saturday in the championship game of the Riverside Poly tournament.

Although the score was pretty typical of a soccer game, the goal was not. Ashley Tousignant scored directly off a corner kick in the 62nd minute for the deciding goal.

The story didn’t go into detail on how she managed to accomplish that feat, but I’m guessing she was doing her best Jess Bhamra impersonation.
