Some howled. Some hugged. Some high-fived. One player stayed away from the celebration, along the sidelines, and cried -- joyous tears.

‘I started tearing up four minutes to go in the game,’ whispered Aubrey Haynes, the 220-pound bruiser who slams into the gut of the line like a battering ram.

All the tears -- all the catharsis -- after a night of four touchdown runs and 188 yards rushing in 25 carries, it’s a night to remember for Haynes and his fellow Swordsmen, who won the Western Division title Friday night, the first section crown for St. Paul in 26 years. ‘It’s crazy. Insane,’ Haynes said. ‘I didn’t it expect it to feel like this.’

Nobody did.
