High-flying act helps St. Bonny take 21-15 lead into intermission

I swear I have never ever seen a high school football player leap more impressively into the end zone than Darrell Scott, pictured in an earlier game, just did. Maybe that’s why he’s the most sought-after running back in the country. Totally impressive.

He took the handoff, looked where he wanted to go -- it appeared he was headed up the middle or to the right -- and then opted to go left. He left the ground at about the four-yard line, and landed well into the end zone, doing a nice tuck on the way down.

Glad to see he didn’t break his neck. That’s always a good thing.

St. Bonny had just been turned away inside the 25 on fourth down, but Hart fumbled the ball back to the Seraphs almost immediately.

Hart just scored with 13.3 seconds left in the first half. Johnny McArthur kicked a 22-yard field goal to make it 21-15. That’s tough, because the Indians were down to the two-yard line. On third down, Delano Howell -- who looks terrific thus far -- was tackled for a three-yard loss by Daniel Miguel, the same player who recovered the fumble that set up Scott’s touchdown leap.

It’s halftime, and top-seeded St. Bonaventure holds a 21-15 lead over second-seeded Hart. Both teams have nearly unstoppable offenses -- at least thus far.
