A holding call wiped out Austin Shanks’ third-and-10, 24-yard run which would have taken Crespi to the Servite 21-yard line. Next play, Servite linebacker Austin Niklas dropped what would have been an interception at about the Servite 40. Crespi was forced to punt, and Servite took over at the 27.
DJ Shoemate got the first carry of the drive and covered nine yards. McEntee passed for nine yards. Shoemate carried for two. The Friars have the ball at their 42 at the conclusion of the third quarter, with the score tied at 7-7.
A couple of dudes are dancing down in the end zone, and one of them just did a back flip. Very impressive. The only other back flip I’ve seen a guy do is was when Carl Edwards jumped off his Nextel Cup stock car. This cat -- who won the dance-off, by the way -- did it from the ground.
Very impressive.
The fourth quarter has arrived.
Crunch time.
