Ray Holley rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns as El Modena defeated Tustin, 40-28. Holley then called it a statement game ‘for all those people who underestimate us,’ according to the Orange County Register.

Sorry, Ray, but the people who underestimate El Modena -- whoever they may be -- won’t be impressed with a victory over Tustin.

If El Modena is to make a statement, it must not come against a team whose best hope is to finish third in league. There are bigger steaks to grill. In two weeks you’ll play El Dorado. That’s when your play can do your talking.

Win that game, and you can make that statement stick. I guarantee it.
