President Barack Obama has agreed to give three university graduation addresses this spring.
Now, his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, is hitting the commencement trail to celebrate the end of at least one stage of schooling with happy parents. And her first one will be in California.
The White House announced today the first lady will speak May 16 at the University of California, Merced’s first full senior class graduation.
According to the White House, her acceptance is in response to a letter-writing campaign by the school’s eager senior class.
The first lady’s other scheduled commencement address will come June 3 at graduation ceremonies for Washington Math and Technical Science High School, a public charter school in the nation’s capital.
