Roberta Romero, a 24-year-old Latina from West Covina, was shot several times and killed on Monday, May 11, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Romero’s body was found in the street near the intersection of Glenpark Street and Bellevue Avenue in Pomona about 5 a.m., according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Police had responded to a report of a shooting.
Ramiro Juan Alvarez, 24, and Rodney Coronel Perez, 28, were arrested in connection with Romero’s death, officials said.
Alvarez has been charged with murder and is scheduled to be arraigned on June 3. Perez has also been charged with murder, as well as evading an officer and willful disregard, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
