Kahari Wimberly, a 31-year-old black man, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest on Sunday, April 26, in the 1100 block of Orizaba Avenue in Long Beach, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Wimberly was found at 12:10 a.m. inside his home after Long Beach police received a shots fired call, officials said. The initial police investigation found that Wimberly was shot outside of his home; he then made his way back inside.
