Rosemead: Man, 82, dies nearly a year after attack

Robert Hewitt, an 82-year-old American Indian, died Oct. 17, 2008 from injuries he sustained when he was assaulted and robbed 11 months earlier in the 8500 block of Guess Street in Rosemead, according to coroner’s and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records.

Hewitt had been assaulted and robbed about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 sheriff’s officials said. Sheriff’s homicide investigators were called after Hewitt died at a hospital and the death was attributed his injuries from the attack.
