Would Twitter be a different beast if photos were as easy to post through the site as minutiae about users’ comings and goings?
We’re about to find out, according to TechCrunch, which reports that the microblogging monster is about to announce a photo sharing feature -– as early as Wednesday.
Third-party developers, who created various services and functions that amplified the Twitter experience, are watching their entrypoints gradually disappear. Twitter snapped up TweetDeck -- a dashboard-style application that collects real-time information from social media sites into a single window -- for an estimated $40 million last week.
No word yet on whether there’s any quivering-in-boots going on at photo services Twitpic and Yfrog.
