Santonio Holmes has agreed to a deal that will keep him with the New York Jets for the next five years, according to the Associated Press, which cites an unnamed source.
The free-agent wide receiver had 52 catches for 746 yards and six touchdowns for the Jets in 2010 after being traded by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the off-season.
Teams can’t officially sign free agents until Friday, but the former Super Bowl MVP already is thanking players who are congratulating him on the deal on Twitter.
