Andres Torres doubled home Edgar Renteria in the seventh inning to give the San Francisco Giants a 3-0 lead over the Texas Rangers in World Series Game 4 on Sunday.
After Renteria collected his third single of the night, Torres hit his double off Texas reliever Darren Oliver against the wall in right-center field, allowing Renteria to score easily and silence the crowd at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
The Rangers then mounted their first threat of the game against San Francisco starter Madison Bumgarner but failed to score.
After Josh Hamilton got aboard with one out on Juan Uribe’s fielding error, Vladimir Guerrero struck out. Nelson Cruz singled to put runners at first and second bases with two out, but Ian Kinsler flied out.
