World Series Game 4 update: Rangers get first hit but Giants still lead 2-0 after four innings

The Texas Rangers finally got their first hit off 21-year-old Giants starter Madison Bumgarner in the fourth inning, but San Francisco still led, 2-0, in World Series Game 4.

Michael Young hit a grounder to the right side that Giants second baseman Freddy Sanchez snagged deep in the hole, but his throw to first base was too late and it went for a single.

Josh Hamilton then hit a ball that bounced off Bumgarner and was fielded by Sanchez, who tagged Young as he ran to second for the first out.

Vladimir Guerrero, one of the rare major leaguers who doesn’t wear batting gloves, then struck out and Hamilton was thrown out trying to steal second base.

In the top of the inning, the Giants went quietly except for a two-out single by Edgar Renteria. Nate Schierholtz then flied out to end the inning.
