The UCLA women’s golf team has won a pair of NCAA titles but has never entered the national championship as the nation’s consensus No.1 team.
Until now. As of Thursday, the Bruins were ranked No. 1 by GolfStat, GolfWeek and the National Golf Coaches Assn. And they will take that top ranking into this week’s NCAA women’s golf championship, which starts Tuesday at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
UCLA, which finished runner up to Arizona State last year, last won the national title in 2004.
