Anheuser-Busch is in talks to become the official beer sponsor of the NFL, according to a source close to the league. One can only hope that means the return of one of the great advertising campaigns of our time:
Unfortunately, because MillerCoors is not renewing its sponsorship of the league, it looks like the end of another long-running (and very clever) marketing campaign:
It has yet to be revealed which Anheuser-Busch beer would replace Coors Light as official beer of the NFL, but here’s hoping we’ll be watching another Budweiser-Bud Light showdown in January. (In case you’re wondering, Bud leads the series, 6-2).
