Courtesy of the tireless Jeremy Zager of the Kings’ media relations department, here are the playoff scenarios for the Kings:
They have clinched no worse than the seventh seeding into the Western Conference playoffs thanks to Colorado’s loss to Chicago on Friday. Colorado can now finish with a maximum of 96 points.
If the Kings win their final two games they will earn the fifth seeding and have 102 points -- assuming Detroit and Nashville win their final games.
Detroit can finish with a maximum of 102 points, and the Kings would own the first tiebreaker, which is wins. The Red Wings’ final game is Sunday at Chicago.
The Predators can finish with a maximum of 100 points and would have the tiebreaker if they are tied in points with the Kings. The Predators’ final game is Saturday at home against St. Louis.
