Some highlights from the main fights at tonight’s Strikeforce MMA card in Florida:

Bobby Lashley vs. Wes Sims

Lashley, who is trying to be a pro wrestler and MMA fighter at the same time, defeated Sims pretty easily. Sims tried some pro wrestling type antics at the beginning of the fight, but the crowd did not react at all. Lashley basically punched Sims into submission, with the ref stopping the fight.

Robbie Lawler vs. Melvin Manhoef

Manhoef opened with some kicks to the body and seemed to be in control when suddenly Lawler knocked him out with an overhand right. A definite moment to try to find on YouTube. Just an explosive right by Lawler, and the crowd went crazy for it.

Herschel Walker vs. Greg Nagy

Walker looks like he could still be playing pro football. Boring first round, won by Walker who threw a lot of punches. In Round 2, Walker takes Nagy down, but doesn’t seem to know what to do with him. No submission skills. So he basically just throws punch after punch until the ref stops it. “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done,†Walker says after the fight. Maybe Strikeforce can trade him to UFC for 12 guys.

Nick Diaz d. Marius Zaromskis for the welterweight title

Diaz connects with several hard knees, then connects with punches to the head and body before Zaromskis goes down. Doesn’t even last a round. Diaz wins.
