Running back Jordan James verbally committed to UCLA this evening, making his announcement at halftime of the Ball State-Northern Illinois football game. He is the seventh-ranked player at his position in the nation, according to Rivals.com.
James, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior from Corona High, is the second high-profile back to commit to the Bruins, joining Westlake Village Oak Christian’s Malcolm Jones.
James, who has been clocked at 4.4 seconds for 40 yards, has gained 1,132 yards this season and averaged 8.7 yards a carry.
James had scheduled a visit to UCLA next week, but moved up the time of his decision. James did visit Arizona, California, Notre Dame and Washington.
