Clipper update: Of the non-Blake Griffin variety

Of course, this could all change in the next few minutes when media availability starts shortly.

But injured big man Marcus Camby, who has been out with a sprained ankle, said this morning he would be able to play tonight against the Lakers. Never should have doubted Camby when he vowed to be ready for the season opener, citing last season’s disappointment.

And almost lost in all the tumultuous Blake Griffin news of the last couple of days was point guard Baron Davis. Remember him?

The Clippers also said this morning that Davis would be able to play in the opener. He has missed the last couple of days of practice with a sore foot/sore toe. But the training staff wasn’t sure how many minutes he would be able to play.

Stay tuned, of course. As we know, an awful lot can change around here.
