The California Horse Racing Board has filed a complaint against the leading jockey from the Del Mar meeting, Joel Rosario, for his ride aboard Cedros in the 11th race at Del Mar on Sept. 6. A hearing originally scheduled for Wednesday has been changed to Oct. 2 at Santa Anita. The board is alleging in its complaint that Rosario broke three CHRB rules and ‘did not put forward his best effort into riding the horse to the finish.’
Cedros finished fourth, beaten by a head for the third-place spot, in the 1 1/16-mile maiden race.
The Daily Racing Form first reported the complaint today.
Rosario has been the leading rider this year at Del Mar and Hollywood Park.
