The guest list for the NBA pre-draft camp, May 27-29 in Chicago, came out today. USC’s Taj Gibson and DeMar DeRozan and UCLA’s Jrue Holiday were among the 52 players on it; USC’s Daniel Hackett was not.
This is the first time the NBA has gone to an NFL-style combine, with days full of agility drills, interviews and athletic and medical testing -- but no games.
It will be interesting to see how many players actually show up. Some may opt to workout individually for selected teams.
Gibson and Holiday have not hired agents, so they can still return to school. That’s also an option for Hackett, who, if he chooses to leave USC anyway, may have to head for Europe.
