UCLA is pushing hard on recruiting. Bruins coaches are well ahead of last spring, when first-year Coach Rick Neuheisel and his staff were still working through their just-been-hired growing pains.
UCLA has made offers to about 60 high school players and had 35 in attendance at Saturday’s scrimmage. That included a handful of high-end prospects.
- Quarterback Austin Hinder from Steamboat Springs (Colo.) High.
- Running back Jordan James from Corona High.
- Quarterback Brett Nottingham from Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista High.
- Linebacker Hayes Pullard from Los Angeles Crenshaw High.
- Linebacker Josh Shirley from Fontana Kaiser High.
