When you lose weight, you’re supposed to tighten your belt -- not beat people with it.
Tennessee Titans running back LenDale White had dropped a few pounds since the NFL playoffs and seemed on the way to the most productive offseason of his career. Then he was involved in a traffic accident in Denver and got into an argument with the other party.
According to a police report, White ‘began striking the victim with a belt and belt buckle.’ The Tennessean says that no charges have been filed and that the former USC All American cooperated with authorities. From a criminal standpoint, the case is closed.
It all went down Feb. 14 -- a day when many dieters are grumpy that they can’t eat any Valentines candy. Just a hunch, but that won’t pass as an excuse when the NFL looks into the case under the rules of their personal conduct policy.
White was already serving probation in Denver for a disturbing-the-peace charge. As part of his sentence, he was also supposed to be taking anger management classes.
