Within an hour of Times columnist T.J. Simers’ breaking the news late Monday night that Manny Ramirez rejected the Dodgers’ one-year, $25-million offer, club spokesman Josh Rawitch confirmed the development and spread the word in an e-mail to the team’s beat writers.
‘Hey guys,’ Rawitch wrote, ‘just a quick confirmation that Scott Boras and Ned spoke tonight and that Scott rejected the Dodgers’ offer.’
Boras, of course, is Ramirez’s agent. ‘Ned’ is Dodgers General Manager Ned Colletti.
