ADELAIDE, Australia -- I’m a huge fan of sushi who has a significant other who just won’t touch the stuff (he’s from Kentucky, OK?). So when traveling I’ll take any opportunity to eat sushi.

But can someone explain this? Over the past few days here, I’ve come across at least three restaurants that offer ‘Bargain’ or ‘Sale’ sushi. The signs also mention ‘Late afternoon’ as part of the come on. Probably this means the restaurants have the freshest sushi and don’t carry any over to the next day but for the life of me I just can’t imagine taking advantage of the chance to have cheap sushi late in the day. Doesn’t seem like a good advertising ploy.

Wednesday’s second stage of the Tour Down Under begins in Hahndorf, which, unsurprisingly just by the sound of the place, is full of German flavor. Apparently bratwurst for breakfast isn’t unheard. Also just doesn’t quite sound appealing even if it’s fresh!
