Over the last five games, Lakers point guard Derek Fisher has played 41 minutes, 42 minutes, 39, 36 and 41.
That’s way too many for the 34-year-old Fisher.
But with backup point guard Jordan Farmar recovering from left knee surgery, the Lakers have had no choice but to use Fisher.
‘We know we have to get Fisher off the floor a little bit,’’ Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said. ‘I’m not sure how it’s going to affect us. Sasha (Vujacic) has got to be a little more steady out there on the floor for us.’’
Fisher was scheduled to start in tonight’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Staples Center.
