Canada goes up, 2-0, thanks to Angelo Esposito, a first-round pick whose rights were traded by Pittsburgh to Atlanta. Nice work along the boards, though helped by a Swedish player’s broken stick.
Good pace and good hitting, and the crowd’s energy is apparent during the TSN telecast of the World Junior Hockey Championship.
An I-feel-old moment: Swedish defenseman Tim Erixon is the son of Jan Erixon, an outstanding NHL defensive forward who played for the New York Rangers when I covered them for Newsday years ago.
