Lakers maintain lead in third quarter

It was no surprise that the Lakers became sluggish early in the third quarter. It was no surprise that the Denver Nuggets made a run at the Lakers in the third quarter.

A 20-point Lakers halftime lead was sliced to 11 points midway through the third.

The Lakers weren’t playing defense. The Lakers weren’t executing on offense. The Lakers weren’t playing as hard.

But the Lakers got it back together later in the quarter and opened up an 88-67 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
