A campaign of the people, by the people, for the people seemed to get some traction earlier this month. So some Cincinnati Bengals fans are trying to create some change of their own.
A group called ‘Who Dey Revolution’ (a name taken from Bengal fans’ rallying cry ‘Who Dey’) has placed four billboards around the city asking the team to ‘hire a general manager’ to push owner Mike Brown out of day-to-day operations.
Brown, the son of NFL legend Paul Brown, has a 98-183 record since taking over the team. His critics accuse him of nepotism, failing to master revenue sharing and free agency and creating an environment that fosters bad behavior among players, some of whom would seem at home on an episode of ‘Cops.’
Of course, since Brown owns the team, the movement’s chance of ousting him are (in the language of Ocho Cinco) cero. Now if the group was called ‘Susan Dey Revolution,’ Brown might take note.
