SUNDAY
Will you ever get a date? When will your skin clear up? Adolescence holds many mysteries; likewise the new live-action series “House of Anubis,†set at a coed English boarding school that is simply groaning with secrets. (Nickelodeon, 7 and 7:30 p.m.)
In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight — but his pride is on the prowl! The special “Night of the Hunt†(above) uses super-sensitive cameras to capture otherworldly images of lady lions making their nocturnal rounds. (National Geographic, 7 and 10 p.m.)
MONDAY
The South may never rise again, but “American Experience†returns with a profile of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, one of Virginia’s favorite sons and perhaps the most brilliant military mind of the Civil War era. (KOCE, 9 p.m.)
TUESDAY
She’s forever your girl: Pop singer, dancer-choreographer and former “American Idol†judge Paula Abdul (below) returns to TV as mentor to a batch of aspiring terpsichoreans in the new reality competition “Live to Dance.†(CBS, 8 p.m.; also Wed.)
WEDNESDAY
Civilization is nearing its end, but don’t take our word for it. Heed the “Prophets of Doom.†Three well-respected experts — none of whom would be caught dead in a tinfoil hat — share their dire predictions for humanity in this new special. (History, 9 p.m.)
THURSDAY
“Like†it or not, it seems there’s no escaping “The Facebook Obsession.†The origins of that particular online social network, dramatized in a film whose name we can’t quite recall just now, are documented in this new special. (CNBC, 6, 7, 9 and 10 p.m.)
FRIDAY
From Season 1 sweetheart Kelly Clarkson — the original and still the best — to reigning champ Lee DeWyze, the new special “American Idol: Welcome Home†checks in with all nine previous winners of the soon-to-return vocal talent competition. (Fox, 9 p.m.)
SATURDAY
The darker side of connecting with strangers over the Internet is revealed in the new ripped-from-the-headlines docudrama “The Craigslist Killer.†Jake McDorman, Billy Baldwin, Agnes Bruckner and Leela Savasta star. (Lifetime, 9 p.m.; also Mon.)
