John Lithgow scared the daylights out of all of us, and for this he got an Emmy nomination?
Oh, yeah!
Lithgow, of course, was nominated for his chilling and weirdly inviting portrayal of Arthur Mitchell, a.k.a. the Trinity Killer on ‘Dexter.’He’s in Canada filming a movie and didn’t think he’d get the day off because of the nomination.
‘I’m afraid I have to celebrate by going to work in about an hour,’ he said. ‘... with a bunch of Canadians who probably don’t even know what an Emmy is, or even care.’
How might Arthur Mitchell accept the award on Emmy night?
‘Oh, that Arthur,’ he said. ‘He’s such a fraud. He’d be crying and extremely gracious -- then he’d go home and kill someone.’
