Gen. Colin Powell was an early guest of Katie Couric’s on CBS.

Couric: ‘Well, General Colin Powell, Secretary of State, former Secretary of State -- what do we call you? General or Secretary?’

Powell: ‘Try Colin, Katie.’

‘Well, Colin--.’

‘I remember her when she was a cub in the Pentagon.’

‘Well, that was a few years ago -- more than either of us would like to admit.’

‘Exactly.’

Much laughter all around.
