Major dish: the Serena-Blair catfight won’t be ending any time soon. “Gossip Girl,” the deliciously soapy drama about Upper East Side teen socialites, has been granted a full season order by the honchos at the CW.
“People everywhere are talking about ‘Gossip Girl,’ and we believe this show will continue to build audience as it builds buzz,” Dawn Ostroff, the network’s president of entertainment, said in a statement today.
Translation: while the show’s first three episodes averaged only 3 million viewers in its Wednesday time slot, executives have been heartened by the number of teens and young women tuning in, especially when DVR viewership is factored in.
