Is changing the state’s primary-election law good for business? According to the California Chamber of Commerce, it is.

Chamber President Allan Zaremberg will be listed as a co-author of the ballot argument in favor of Proposition 14 on the June ballot. The measure would create a top-two primary system, with the top two primary election vote-getters, regardless of party, advancing to November runoff elections.

‘Politicians would rather stick to their rigid partisan positions and appease the special interests than work together to solve California’s problems,’ the ballot statement reads. ‘In order to change government we need to change the kind of people we send to the Capitol to represent us.’

You can read the entire ballot argument here, and the text of Proposition 14 here.
