No Americans qualify for the finals of large hill ski jumping

Peter Frenette (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) placed 32nd, just missing the finals in the large hill ski jumping event Saturday.
A tie for the 30th and final position with a score of 95.6 put 31 into the final.
Frenette received a 90.6 to fall below the cutoff. Nick Alexander (Lebanon, N.H.) was 40th with a score of 79.2.
Simon Ammann of Switzerland won the first round with a score of 144.7.
