Nick Alexander, Peter Frenette qualify for finals of large hill ski jumping

Nick Alexander (Lebanon, N.H.) and Peter Frenette (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) have advanced from the qualification round for large hill ski jumping.

Alexander had a score of 116.5, while Frenette recorded a 113.8.

Andres Johnson (Park City, Utah) posted a 95.6 and did not advance.

Noriaki Kasai of Japan was the top qualifier with a score of 143.5 points.

The first round of competition will begin at 11:30 a.m. PST Saturday.
