After sitting out of Sunday’s World Cup slalom to rest a sore ankle, Bode Miller didn’t fare well in his return to competition today.
Miller finished 26th on his opening run of a World Cup night slalom in Austria after nearly falling midway through the course. Miller managed to qualify for a second run after using his arm to push himself back up during the run.
The two-time Olympic silver medalist finished more than three seconds behind leader Manfred Pranger of Austria, the defending slalom world champion.
Miller, who won a World Cup super-combined event on Jan. 15, is looking to improve his competitiveness in slalom heading into next month’s Winter Olympic Games.
