Japan’s Kitajima wins gold in 200M breaststroke

BEIJING -- Japan’s Kosuke Kitajima made it clear Thursday that he owns the breaststroke, winning the gold medal in the 200-meter event in two minutes, 07.64 seconds, just 0.13 outside his world record.
Kitajima won the 100-meter breaststroke Monday, and won both events at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Australia’s Brenton Rickard finished second in 2:08.88 while Frenchman Hugues Duboscq was third in 2:08.94.
