BEIJING -- France’s Alain Bernard won the gold medal in the men’s 100-meter freestyle Thursday in 47.21 seconds.
Australia’s Eamon Sullivan, who holds the world record of 47.05, got the silver with a time of 47.32. American Jason Lezak won the bronze in 47.67.
