New home sales in March down 31%

Nationwide sales of new single-family homes were down 31% in March from a year ago, the Census Bureau reports today.
A total of 356,000 new single-family homes were sold in March. In the West, the 84,000 homes sold in March represented a 31% decline from the same month a year ago, matching the national downturn.
