Singer Larry Gatlin says he did cocaine in Carter’s White House

It was back in the day. Jimmy Carter was president. The Gatlin Brothers were cranking out the hits.
‘Back then,’ country singer Larry Gatlin says, ‘cocaine ran like water. It was the currency of the realm.’
Given those circumstances, who wouldn’t do coke in a White House bathroom?
Gatlin shares that tidbit, and hints at who might have been with him, on Fox News’ overnight show ‘RedEye w/Greg Gutfeld.’
The Grammy winner isn’t exactly bragging about it -- ‘I’ve been outed!’ he jokes after host Gutfeld practically drags him to water and forces him to take a deep gulp.
‘I did quit drinking about 25 years ago and quit doing drugs,’ a self-deprecating Gatlin says. ‘I got tired of pukin’ on people I didn’t know. They really got tired of it. ... You can have hit records all you want, but puke’s a different story.’
He says he’d be happy to play for President Obama ‘out of respect for the office’ -- which we assume would now rule out that ‘70s-style preparation for the gig.
The interview airs at midnight Pacific time on Wednesday, which in real life feels like Tuesday night -- it’s complicated.
