Pedestrian killed by train in northern San Diego County

Authorities are investigating the death of an unidentified male struck by a southbound Amtrak train in the northern San Diego County community of Encinitas, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was struck at 8:22 a.m.Tuesday while walking along the railroad tracks. The county medical examiner is attempting to determine his identity.
