A Los Angeles police officer was injured after being bitten on the arm during a scuffle Thursday morning with a man who ran into traffic on a busy Sherman Oaks street, department officials said.
The incident unfolded shortly after 10 a.m. when officers attempted to talk to the man who was walking in traffic in the 14000 block of Moorpark Street, police said.
After a brief foot pursuit, officers tried to detain the man, who was not immediately identified.
The man began fighting with officers and bit an officer on his arm, police said.
Officers used a Taser to subdue the suspect and arrest him. Both the officer, who also was not identified, and the suspect were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
