Former Assemblyman Mike Feuer remained in stable condition Tuesday in a hospital’s intensive care unit, one day after his Prius was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe, a spokesman said.
John Shallman, chief strategist for Feuer’s campaign for Los Angeles city attorney, said the former lawmaker had sustained multiple rib fractures, a bruised lung and a spleen laceration.
Feuer was on his way to a swearing in ceremony for Dist. Atty. Jackie Lacey when the Tahoe struck the driver’s side of his car. ‘The impact was so severe that emergency personnel needed the Jaws of Life to pull him out,’ Shallman said in the statement.
Shallman said Feuer’s condition is not life-threatening and that he is expected to make a full recovery.
