The clock is ticking toward the beginning of the end for ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ the best-written sci-fi show in television history. Tomorrow night, the new episode ‘Sometimes a Great Notion’ will premiere, and it has some MAJOR revelations in it that propel the series into its final episodes.
As the credits are rolling tomorrow night on the East Coast broadcast, check back here for a major scoop, and I do mean major. Also, next Monday I’ll be posting a batch of exclusive on-the-set photos that were taken during the filming of ‘Notion’ in Vancouver, Canada. They were sent to me by Michael Nankin, the director of some of the best episodes of ‘Battlestar,’ who earlier this week provided Hero Complex with some great behind-the-scenes photos from the show’s Season Two. I can’t post the newest stuff he sent me because it will undermine some of the drama from tomorrow night’s broadcast -- especially the climatic final scene -- but there is one photo that Nankin said would be safe to show you now.
Here it is: Paul Sanchez Yates took the photo, which shows a beaming Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) greeting a group of schoolchildren who essentially wandered into production. It’s an endearing moment and, I’m sure, one that was a rare light moment for Sackhoff, considering the heavy moments she has to deal with during this episode...don’t worry, no spoilers here.
