Fellow tableware geeks may be excited to hear that Heath L.A. will sell home accessories, including some Chin Jukan pottery, from Tokyo’s Playmountain design shop at its Beverly Boulevard store, from Saturday until Sept. 5. Other products: Chigo’s high design for kids; Tembea totes; and clothing by Loopwheeler, made with vintage loopwheel looms. The opening party will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, with Japanese food from Sylvan Mishima Brackett’s Oakland-based catering company Peko-Peko and chef Yuri Nomura. The Tokyo-based brewery Coedo (I’m partial to its Beniaka sweet potato lager) will be in charge of refreshments. 7525 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, (323) 965-0800, www.heathceramics.com.

Gourmet ramen that isn’t in the South Bay? From Tuesday until July 24, chefs Kazuo Shimamura and Noriyuki Sugie of Ironnori Concepts are going all out with a ramen series at Breadbar, ‘Yatai Ramen.’ It’s a contemporary tribute to the traditional Japanese street food. They’re playing with classic ingredients such as poached egg, Kurobuta pork belly, seaweed, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, Japanese leeks, as well as somewhat more esoteric oxtail, truffle oil and foie gras. Other menu items include pig feet or vegetarian kale gyoza and drinks such as coconut boba. Available at Breadbar’s West 3rd Street location Monday to Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. Ramen, $10 to $18; sides, $8; drinks, $4. 8718 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles, (310) 205-0124, www.breadbar.net.
