Intelligentsia Coffee is throwing a party for the Pablove Foundation, which helps support families with children who have cancer.

The L.A.-based rock quartet the Eulogies will be playing live next Thursday at Intelligentsia in Venice, followed by DJ Tom Schnabel of KCRW-FM (89.9). There is bound to be plenty of caffeine.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about pediatric cancer. Pablove Foundation co-founders Jeff Castelaz and Jo Ann Thrailkill started Pablove when their son, Pablo, was diagnosed with Wilms’ Tumor. The Pablove Foundation fights on in Pablo’s memory to help other families faced with the same challenges. The organization’s mission is to fund pediatric cancer research and advances in treatment, and to educate and empower cancer families and improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through hospital play, music and arts programs.

Those attending the event will have the opportunity to donate, buy Pablove merchandise, and sign up to volunteer. A $10 suggested donation will be requested at the door. All proceeds go to the Pablove Foundation. Thursday, 7 p.m. 1331 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, (310) 399-1233.
